Passing the baton, Mercedes Daguerre bequeaths us a mature magazine, capable of developing, thanks to a wide network of curatorial and authorial collaborations, the most disparate themes of the complex disciplinary panorama. Themes that we will continue to cover in a transversal manner, maintaining a multidisciplinary approach that has been consolidated over the years. We are taking over a complex and stimulating program, a committed, close-knit and competent editorial staff, with which we will have to demonstrate our ability to deal with evolving scenarios, to tell the story of the present and the future of building culture, also embracing the many opportunities offered by digital.
The editor entrusts us with the magazine, together with responsibility for the content of the espazium.ch platform, at a crucial time that calls for profound changes in the way we conceive, organize and propose arguments of high scientific, technical and cultural value. It is thanks to the solid foundation on which Archi rests that we are able to lay the foundations for a series of reforms, some of which are already present in this issue, which serves as a hinge between the two directions and as a springboard for the planned transformations. We strive to provide you with high-quality information, to bring you topical issues, to maintain and expand the variety of topics covered, to communicate through a variety of media, both traditional and digital, and to bring you examples of the most advanced technologies, the most innovative construction techniques and the most relevant design approaches, with well-documented transdisciplinary insights.
The imminent organization of the «Forum Zukunft bauen» workshop, strongly supported by the SIA in the three national language regions, prompts us to reflect on how to build the future. In this difficult task, we have the ambition to accompany you, providing targeted information and expanding the range of formats, in the hope of sharing these reflections with the readers of the magazine, platform and social media.
We greet Mercedes with great affection, certain to find in her an ever-present interlocutor and a vigilant observer. We hope we can take with us her abnegation for her work, her dedication to research and precision, and that never-quenched critical eye that distinguishes her and fuels every great vision.
